Sales is the starting point of all enterprise and industry. It is one of the highest paid professions in the world, and one of the most feared. Many successful businesses begin with an idea, but it is the selling of this idea that makes them a success.

Regardless of your profession, you will undoubtedly be required to do some form of selling. You may have to sell your boss on giving you that promotion, selling your manager on giving you that assignment, or sell your co-workers on cooperating with your suggestions. Whenever we attempt to persuade someone to see our point of view, we are selling. Therefore, if you can become more skilled in the area of persuasion, you can achieve greater level of success in whatever you do.

Why is it that some sales people become successful while others become failures? Is it that some are just not “cut out” for sales? Contrary  to popular opinion, sales people are not “cut out”. There is no special breed simply born to be sales people; sales people are made. Sales is a craft, and just like any other craft, the process can be taught, learned, practiced and eventually mastered.
